Marron Het VPI Caramel Albino

Tracy Barker May 14, 2011 10:51 PM

Finally had this litter Marron male bred to a VPI Caramel Albino female. This was great-and for the first time we had one of those strange events where there was a Caramel Albino in the litter with the Marrons and Normals, not sure how that happens, but there it was!

Ok, let the experts weigh in-because I'm just putting up the pics and labeling what I think....! This is based on the adult Marrons I have (1.3). The male Marron is so much more red than the females I have and I know the females are Marron's. It looks like this variation goes through to the babies. I have not sexed the babies yet.

Too much is left to guesswork I think. However im confident that when those shed, my baby gauging eyes tell me there will be surprises, what may seem one thing will shed into looking another thing. fun fun fun!!!

LarM May 15, 2011 01:53 PM

Is that a VPI Caramel Albino and Marron wrapped into one Boa, it
certainly is red . The lateral color is insane and
it's red all over !

Have you noticed every time a marron is bred to something with a albino gene in it a albino shows up... Just an observation.

Did not know that-more info please!!

LarM May 15, 2011 06:15 PM

I didn't realize that Kev , in fact I thought that the Marron has only been successfully out crossed something like three times.

A Motley litter another litter I can't remember and now these VPI Boas.

You're going to have to remind me what other litters were produced
successfully Kev my Brain isn't recalling ?

No, not in the same litter, this is a "I'm just saying", but Jorn bred a marron to an albino and got albino's, Dan Brown bred his to a het sharp female, and got 1 sharp and slugs, and know Tracy's litter which is actually the first with marron's in it..Like I said, just an observation, would be wierd if my sunglow delivers some albino's aswell(she's been waving that tail around all day)..Tracy, wasn't that female a virgin?

Dan Brown that's right, I attributed both of those ( Dan & Jorn )to retained sperm but
now I see were you're going with this possibility . . . interesting.

Yes never has been with a male. I have one more chance. This litter is from VPI caramel albino the next possible litter one is a pink panther caramel albino. Anxious to hear others results.

Dr. Warren Booth can tell you if the presumed T-Pos was NOT fathered by the Marron. Contact him and he can get that going for you. Betcha it's a female right?
