Really looks spectacular Tony. That orange is really intense, especially next to that dark banding.

Thank you Dennis. For some reason, he darkened up and the orange even became more intense 2 weeks after I took the picture. He is a month shy from being 2 years old!

Doug, I was even surprised at how much he changed from birth. Thanks for the compliment! I was hoping he would turn out this black! =)

Wow, he's gorgeous! I need a male like that. Do you know if he is a locality? My females are East Sandersons.

Not as eye popping as that male of yours, but they still have some growing to do.

This is the ugly sister, lol. My wife doesn't like this one at all, but she has grown on me, and she may give some interesting babies?

I'm not joking, those are beautiful Jorge. I believe I got your name right but correct me if I am wrong! All Alternas are eye popping...if you know what I mean lol. Meaning gray bands eyeballs protrude haha. Seriously though, that Sanderson trio is very beautiful. May I ask who bred these guys? If I were to guess, Shannon Brown?

The third one I think is the most killer. I see a whole lot of potential with this female as she may produce black on black babies in the future...very nice! You are right about her perhaps producing interesting babies. Down the line, this trio, I'm sure will produce screamers! Were they 2010 hatchlings?

Well, Shannon does have killer stock, but these were produced by Todd Smith in California. He said his male was from a local breeder and the female was Ric Blair stock. So Some may not consider them true locality, but I don't care really. The deal is these were a marked down deal for the three females. It was a steal really, and for three females I couldn't pass it up. I was looking for a female for my 277 male, so I figured what the heck? Later I got a screamer Blair female from Jason Nelson which will be his main squeeze. So now I would like to find these dark ladies a dark handsome man, lol. I may breed the 277 male with them to see what they produce, untill i find a suitable mate. If by any chance you live near Central Florida shoot me an email, lol. They still need another year to put on some size though. Here's the other two I have. If I could only breed one type of snake it would be Graybands, or Brooks. It's hard to make a choice! Almost sounds like a Country band don't it..."Graybands and Brooks"

Wow. Something like that would reluctantly draw me back into the Grayband world. Congrats. That animal is killer. What locality is that?

Thank you for such a high compliment! I have a River Road Alterna that is turning up complete opposite of this guy, super light gray, almost platinum or white looking. Gray bands never stop amazing me and can't agree with you any more.

He is Christmas Mountains locality. I felt that I shouldn't put locality unless asked because it would bring this posting to another discussion. Allan, have you written any reptile books? Your name sounds real familiar...somewhere =)! Again, thanks!

Hey guys,

What is the biggest western locality Alterna you guys have seen? I hear only 2 1/2 feet but isn't there a possibility that some have gotten to 3 to 3 1/2 feet? Just wondering...
