Breeding a regular pastel

temptress869 May 17, 2011 03:35 PM

My friends really want some babies from my pastel (and so do I), what can i breed with her to get some awesome results? I dont know of many morphs, but from my recent looking I love bumblebees, firebees, albino black pastels, and banana pastels. Can I make any of these from my snake? Does anyone have a site that can help me learn what makes what? I dont want to experient and see what I get, I kinda what to know what to expect. I know its kinda random but whats the least random...? lol

It all depends on what you want to produce and how much $$$ you have to spend. Banana balls are normally listed at 15k for females and 60k for males... if you can find anyone selling one. If you like bumble bees you can pick up a spider which give you a 1:4 shot at a bumble bee, or you can pick up a bumble bee and give you a 1:4 for bumble bees but give you a shot for a killer bees, and super pastels as well. Needless to say a rule of thumb to breeding is the more you put on the table the better your odds to hit something big the less you put on the table the smaller price value the jackpot. If you think of it like gambling how many times to you hear of someone winning $1,000,000 on a penny slot. Biggest thing to keep in mind though, is pick up what you need to produce what you want but also keep it within your means, keep in mind that you may not get eggs your first year and with that you may not want to put you whole bank on the project if you and your family cannot handle to kick back for a first few years.

Morph list and genetics wizard: see link.

Do searches for "pastel", "pewter", and "blast" separately. These words generally indicate that pastel is involved.

The more mutant genes in a combination, generally the more the snake costs. I'm pretty sure that firebee does not have the pastel mutant gene. And black pastel is not the same gene as pastel.
