Litter #1 - Arabesques, Sunglows

tcdrover May 18, 2011 12:04 PM

First litter of the season for me. These were from my arabesque
het for albino and my male lipstick line dbl het.

Everything went very smoothly. The momma ate all the way thru, I
stopped feeding her about 4-5 weeks ago. She had her waxy stool
on Thursday and gave birth yesterday afternoon. No problems
getting her out of the cage either.

There are 24 neonates, 4 slugs, I premie and 1 still born that
might have suffocated. I think it breaks down to 1 sunglow
arabesque, 3 sunglows, 4 albino arabesques, 7 hypo arabesques,
5 hypos and 4 normal arabesques.

Thanks for looking. The season is looking good over here in
sunny, Sunrise, Florida.

He is the dark-headed hypo I got from you a few years ago.

Some of the babies have a darkened head just like he had when
he was little,

That is a very good problem to have. I hope the rest of the season brings you more healthy babies.

That's a whole lot of cool stuff in one baby bucket! Congrats!

practically worn out those pages you wrote in the Boa Constrictor
manual over the years...

I still remember what a thrill I got when I had my first litter
of hog island boas after I read that. Every litter I've had since
then I get the same kick.

Beautiful litter, can you post a picture of the Sunglow Arab once it has sloughed, I produced one this year and they are stunning, but having problems convincing my best mate a ball python fan, who is not convinced that it is a sunglow arab!

tcdrover May 20, 2011 10:44 AM

It was hard to tell the difference at first but after I washed
them out it got a little easier. I'll post a pic next week.

Can't wait for them to shed so I can feed the little beasts.
