Savannas hatched !!!

boxienuts May 18, 2011 06:59 PM

These guys hatched out about 2 weeks ago and shed last sunday so I took a few pics since you don't see to many photos of these. Ended up pretty lucky with the odds on this one, hope everyone gets this lucky with odds this year. This was a clutch of 7 eggs, all hatched and are healthy, from a cinnamon male bred to a mojave female. Ended up with 4 savanas in the clutch and a pretty nice sex ratio to boot, 1.3 savanna (cinni mojo) and 1.2 cinni. These turned out a lot neater looking than I expected with super blushed lower halfs of their sides and scrunched up and smeared patterns.

Those are really cool! I have those components, I should make some next year! Hey Boxie, is "Savana" the recognized name or is that what YOU'RE calling them? Never heard of it!

I was wondering what that would look like every week looking through my cages now I know. Also gives me an idea

first proven by NERD

yes this is not a new combo by any means, I believe NERD did produce first in 2009, and NO, I did not invent the name savanna, I am merely following suit with this combo name that is commonly recongnized. For some reason, just don't see many savannas around, nor are they very popular, which I'm not sure why, I think they are cool looking and have a lot of breeding power and are easy and cheap as pie to make, heck I made some and I'm just a gartersnake guy piddling around with a few ball pythons on the side. lol.
