charlibroun May 18, 2011 10:23 PM

Hey guys so about a year ago i got this little guy and was told he was a redtail, then i was told he was a mix between a kahl albino and a pastel, then at a checkup a few days ago i was told he could be a hogg isl.....can you guys take a look at the pics and tell me what you think?

also i just changed the bedding to aspen and now he stays burrowed in almost all the time, is this normal?

It's not a redtail (BCC)..... It's a common Northern boa (BCI) Nice looking BCI though......

Like Marc said he pretty much looks like a common Northern which is a basic Colombian type Boa.

I would like to see some more pictures of him though . . . he's an attractive Boa.

Over head images of him stretched out a bit in natural light.

Mainly over head images even if he's curled up in natural light.

Burrowing in the aspen is very natural behavior.

While it may fall within parameters of what looks normal(especially if mixed locale/especially if part Hog), so does "pastel" lines, and even adult Colombian T-positives (in my opinion). It does not look typical to me. I'm guessing it came from the western states...do you know where it was produced? What color is the tongue? Reduced pattern or white belly? Has the color dramatically changed as it aged?

It was produced in new jersey and though I did see the parents I'm not sure where they were produced.his tongue is somewhat of a dark blue/purple and his belly is white or a really fainnt beige.....his colors haven't dulled but he is still young but I can tell you that they somewhat flucuate during the day or especially right after a meal he gets darker and later in the day you tend to see a lot of pink on his side
