Glades Rat: WC

Found this nice female glades rat in the top of the photo near lake okeechobee a few days ago. She looked dark and unattractive at a distance and was not even going to check her out but decided to perhaps take photos and am ever glad I walked over to see her closer.

Very nice acquisitions indeed!..

There's quite a bit of color variation within everglades range. Are both animals from same area?

They are both nice snakes.
I have a yellow that shows the glades influence. Its from the green swamp and is very orange. Its tounge is mostly red with a little black in it.
Is the tounge for the one you have all red?

I have seen alot of speculation of what it takes now to be "an official everglades rat" and it seems an all red tounge is a key point.
Incidentally from what I see of yours I'd give no arguement against its being the real deal. Its nice!

Mine I think would still be a yellow as being from the GS but it keeps getting more orange with age.(?)
Mike.

They are not from the same county although its not uncommon to find yellows and glades in the same areas.

Nice looking examples of both.
