anerythristic hognoses -

rattler456 Sep 29, 2003 02:49 PM

I was flipping tin sunday looking for rattlers, and found an anerythristic eastern hognose - it's just black, white, and shades of gray. no colors at all.

Is this anything special or is it common?

PS - I don't keep hognoses so I don't know much about their variations.

Eastern Hognose are extremely variable, and it might not even be genetic. It could be like the "melanistics" which when bred with other "melanistics" can still produce totally different offspring. Cool find either way...gotta love hogs. And on a side note, did you flip the hog or just come across it in the open, and if you did flip it, what was it under? Andy
