they are GREAT snakes to breed...BUT, the thing about boas are they have a somewhat more difficult breeding cycle than alot of snakes you could start out breeding. alot of people have trouble breeding boas. some people kick ass at breeding boas. if you have never bred snakes, i would say that you should maybe start off with something with a less complicated breeding cycle. try corn snakes or another type of colubrid maybe...im not trying to discourage you, but i can promise you that if you have not bred any other type of snakes, a corn type snake would probably be easier to succeed with. maybe get a boa as a pet and get a few colubrids to try to breed. this way you can get the experience of owning a boa, and learn a little easier breeding cyle to get the idea of what you are in for. plus you will be more likely to succeed on your first try with a colubrid type snake. ...but, some people just have "IT" when it comes to snakes or reptiles in general. so if you are serious and do a TON of research...and you wanna give it a try, go for it...but i think you will have a greater chance at success with a colubrid. GET VIN RUSSO'S BOOK called "the complete boa constrictor" and read it a few times!!! good luck whatever you decide to do....and try to get ahold of a successful breeder and spend some time with them and ask a ton of questions!

Thanks for the advice it's greatly appericated And yeah I havent bred anything before but it's always been a dream of mine I used to have a boa and I loved it he was so awesome but my plan was to get a few ball pythons since I already have one and try to start breeding them and get to see if I can do it but while I was doing that I was going to get a pair of boas so I can raise them up and everything then possible breed them
