you breed corns....

ok...tricks for balls....

buy GOOD racks first...
buy females first year.....
buy incubator....incubate at 89 ...not 82 ,like corns...

all the rest is about the same....

Sometimes balls stop eating. Don't pull your hair out.
It happens.

I add this because I have never known a corn snake that wasn't ravenous.

I am not very experienced with balls myself, since I have only been working with them a few years but one of the best tricks to the trade I would say is be patient and don't expect the odds to hit big all the time. Do to the fact you have some reptile experience I would assume you already know this but it if not it can be a very disappointment lesson to learn.

As far as morphs go, there are all kinds of colors and patterns out there, pastels, clowns, lesser, albinos, lavender albinos, phantoms, pieds, spiders, and more. The biggest thing I would recommend when picking a starting group is to pick animals that have patterns you like or have part of the patterns you need to make the animal you hope to hatch out someday.

Also I would recomend getting morph females, and a good male rather then getting a great male and all normal females. You can pick up female pastels for under $200 and they add a huge power to your odds compared to a normal. Starting out it may not be a huge deal but all the bigger breeders I know really don't like hatching out normals because they end up wholesaling hundreds and some maybe thousands for $10-$25 each... maybe even less.

I prefer to get High End recessive females, (if you can get your hand on hypos, albinos, axanthics, stripes breeders females, expensive and risky but could be worth it) and breed them to simple males or even high crazy end males. Now breed theses back to the female with the recessive genes and it could be just CRAZY like HELL !

It's a damn risk, but managed nicely I think it can be awesome !

Anyone can breed balls, they are very easy to work with. Build your own racks if you can and save a ton of money. I agree with picking up some pastel females. A big mistake people make is buying a higher end male say a double co-dom and have nothing but normals to breed it to. You wanna do it right? Buy a couple of pastel females this year. Raise them up for a year. The following year pick up a male of your choice. By the time the females are ready to breed the male will be ready as well. Feel free to ask as many questions as you want. The nice thing about balls is there isn't to many secrets, unless you want to get into what makes what with the really higher end 4 gene animals.

Best of luck!!!

Get 2 Bumble Bee females raise them for a year and then get a male Lemon Blast and in two years.....so many morph possible...that way you get low end and high end.
Or jump start spend more and buy sub adults but save time.
