Aberant Gray Rat snake

rick d May 22, 2011 09:39 PM

I bought this snake from Tom Crutchfield about a year and a half ago. I believe she was wild caught near Marianna, FL. I'm not sure what you would call her but she looks similar to the Calico black rats. I just bred her to a White Oak gray rat and she laid 12 eggs. It will be interesting to see what the offspring look like. I was thinking about breeding her with an albino gray rat.

Looks a lot like a brindle black rat to me-interesting.

Pretty cool specimen!

I would say that "brindle" best describes that animal's particular phenotype.
