This Gem Just Hatched

CBI May 23, 2011 04:05 PM

Her dad is that killer sulfur male from a few posts down and her mom is a Sulfur Lavender from Rainer's original stock. She just crawled out a few hours ago and is already WAY nicer than my male was as a hatchling so I can not wait to see her shed and grow! These guys go through the most drastic change of any of the florida kings that I have, these will get much more yellow and red. Also pictured are some from the earlier clutch from the same male to a different female as well as a sibling to this screamer! The variability in these sulfurs are insane! A drab looking pair can throw high yellows/reds and a screamer pair can throw low end ones just like the flames. Four more to crawl out and two are looking bright! Thanks for looking and enjoy...

Dad

Clutch #1 Babies

I was surprised to get this High White female

And her is his second clutch, this time to a Sulfur Lavender female and not just a Sulfur "Normal"...

First female out

And the second out, four more to go!!!

It wasn't a Sulfur Lav it was that Red Sulfur "Normal" at the bottom of the post

Yeah that red sulfur normal looks almost hypoish than a normal.

Should be a screamer of a sulfur!

Thanks! Yea, it reminds me of one that Tom Stevens hatched out two or three years ago from his T-/Sulfur Lav/Anery Hets

Thanks man, I am dying waiting for the other four to crawl out haha. Seems like they just look at me and go "I know he wants to see what I look like... I think he can wait a few more hours :P".

The female just dropped a second clutch yesterday so I have a few more chances of another red one. Good luck on your clutches and post em up when they hatch

Awesome snake indeed man!!!! Can't wait to see more.

m77mcreedy May 23, 2011 07:18 PM

Oh the colors...every once in a while a snake comes along and just takes your breath away. She's BEAuTIFUL! She looks agressive too. Just like pocoony once said when he was talking about a sense of wonder a while back. I'm in a state of wonder right now.

Just some Thayeri, Mex Mex, Holbrooki, Pyros, Splendida and Nigrita.......Maybe some Situla and Ruthveni......and a green lizard they call Abronia.......I don't think the Loxocemus took, but I will try again with them until they do.......Same with my one female Knoblochi.......

I still may venture back into Floridana and Calkings again.....getula are so damn prolific, hardy and darn right simple........I love that.....LOL

I have 2.1 of Shannon Brown's over here as well as 1.1 "hets"......And a couple others with some Melanistic Lineage...
Just a few good eggs though....I hope some black ones hatch out.....

BTW....I have kept/bred a few Floridana back some years ago......My passion lies with Mexicana and Montane kings.
I don't jump on bandwagons that often......But I am liking the mosaic Floridana gene mixed with all the morphs......Maybe I will pick a few up in Daytona......We'll see......LOL

Hey man stick with what you love doing, we need some more people working on all the things that you do, not many have that many nice ones. If you hatch any of the melanistics and are willing to let some go PLEASE let me know... And yea there was a hypo mosaic on the classifieds that was pretty awesome, I'm sure gourmet rodent will have some basic morphs mixed in....

Yep...I check out Gourmet Rodent's table every year......Mike had some killer striped Floridana there last year too......

BTW.....All melanistics have been spoken for already......And probably most of them next year too....LOL
Not many folks working with them anymore.........

You never posted any pics of those? By the way, I've bred Thayeri, Alterna, Mex mex, and Ruthies! Not much different than Floridana, just smaller. Now Pyros I suck at, lol! Post your Situla!

You don't have to rub it in our faces....SHOWOFF! Hahahaha!!!

You can put me down for a pair too, I guess in 2015. I'll take a number and get in line.

mbrawley May 24, 2011 01:51 AM

Here's a few things I have going right now....and yeah Jeremy, I've been eye-balling a lot of Lassiter's stuff for a while now, too! But it sounds like he gots no love for us! LOL!!!

Jlassiter May 24, 2011 08:21 PM

I just saw this Micah.....sorry I skipped over it.....LOL

Congrats on the fertile eggs and great looking snakes......I really dig those Splendida......One of my long time favorite snakes........

I like that reduced black leonis with reduced pattern pictured first.....

You breed those this year?
Do you mind me asking where you got them?
Email me.......

Oh great...even better. So you skipped my post and pics altogether! I'll give you the benefit if the doubt, maybe you accidently read "mcreedy" as the user name instead of mbrawley or something! Hahaha!!!! Ok well if that's the case I understand. No hard feelings brother.

I'll email you with the info about those badass above average thayeri I have that are still not as good as yours. LOL!

Jlassiter May 24, 2011 09:24 PM

LOL......All thayeri are nice in my book.......I like a good ole classic buckskin just as much as a bright yellow aberrant, line bred, lineage/locality crossed mutt.....lol

Everyone needs some thayeri in their collection so they will stay up at night and call in sick to work while they are hatching......LOL

Their variability is mind blowing......

Thanks, I really like the red one... but the White one is even more different for the sulfur line, actually. Both are females so I will probably hold on to one of them, just don't know which yet.
