Constipation in eyelash vipers(pls read)

spider916 May 23, 2011 08:27 PM

I know its not quite on topic for the ball forum but i think the info i am looking for could be used for ball husbandry too.
I have been doing some research and see that eyelash vipers get constipated easily. How can one prevent this. Do they need a cage with lots of branches to promote exercise at night. What is the best size cage for an adult female eyelash. Does humidity help. How often do you feed adults. Any info would be great.

thank you

Hi,

I kept eyelash vipers for about ten years and never had a constipation problem. I found with nightly misting, mine dropped bombs like clockwork. They seemed to appraciate cool nights too high 60s- low 70s with all lights and heat off. As long as you keep them well hydrated you should not have a problem. I found that a well planted cage with pothos helped immensely also. I kept adults in approx 20 high tanks and they did quite well. Good luck.

Will
