cheap hides and water bowls in bulk

gzaustin May 23, 2011 08:37 PM

Are there any hides and water dishes that you can get for tubs in bulk online or I can go and buy? I always see breeders in youtube videos using the same thing for ball pythons and I'm just wondering what some of you might use for your whole collection.

I just bought fifty 16 oz deli cups for $8 last night on Amazon. If you put them inside a 4" PVC coupler, it works great.

At target the usually have 12qt tubs in packs of like 5 for $5 and I use those for hides, and use 4qt tubs for water. I wrap the hides in duct tape so they are dark.

Not a good idea to have tape in with your snakes, FYI.

I have a rather small collection, so naturally i have a hodge-podge assortment of bowls and hides of every size, shape, and color. I would love to find a place to get heavy duty water bowls for a good price to replace all of mine with. I am currently looking at food service supply companies for ceramic remekins(for souffles and such), and have found some on a few different websites for around $1 each for 3-4" dishes. Currently i am using small plastic bird/rodent food dishes for my younger snakes for water, and i use the black plastic pint containers that fresh mushrooms come in at the grocery store for hides. These are ok for real young ball pythons or other species of small snakes, but i am still on the lookout for some heavier duty replacements.
