are uro's good for a beginner?

I have a friend who is interested in owning a reptile, but is freaked out by the whole live prey thing. I know that an iguana probably wouldnt be good for him because of their aggressive nature. I was thinking maybe a uromastyx, due to the fact that they are herbivores; however, i dont know that much more about them. I have heard that they are fairly docile, and easy to handle. Is this true? How large do they get? Is their care very complicated? What kind of enclosure would they need?
thanks so much

Im an iguana person, i used to have 8 iguanas so im pretty acustomed to them!In fact although some igs can become very tame if you dont upset them (they are very sensitive and almost anything can modify their behavior and turn a sweet ig to a wild one!)they are difficult to handle without being hurt when they reach more than 5 feet!Even when they are VERY tame their body's skin and tail are VERY rough and can easily cut our skin.
The first time i saw/handled an URO i was very surprised how tame they are and how soft is their skin. But their cage's requirements mainly concerning temperature IMHO are a little bit complicated. For a beginner id suggest a Leo Gecko or a Blue Tongue Skink. Some BTS are VERY tame too!

a leopard gecko would be better, you just have to fee mealworms so not a big deal. Uros can be tame, especially if you get a CB mali. The initial enclousure is expensive. I wouldnt really reccomend one. Sicne most are WC and can have alot of problems and do not get full tame. Leos on the other hand are great easy to handle and mostly CB, and alot less expensive to set up.
Good luck any questions feel free.
By the way do not get anything froma petstore no matter what!
