2 Males, 2 Females...

trevid May 24, 2011 09:50 PM

With everyone showing eggs, and hatchlings, here are 4 from last season. 3 holdbacks and a Shannon special that I picked up..
my hatchings came from 2 clutches(same dad, diff mom) and both adult females gravid again from same sire, eggs still 10 days away or so. Dave.

The one with the thin orange is from Shannon Brown. A hwy 277 alterna. my other gorgeous greyband are non locality specific, or as they say on another forum, "mutts"

DMong May 25, 2011 12:53 AM

Thanks for the additional info on those stunners.

And yes, she IS far prettier than Shannon!..

Nothing " mutt " about them if they are pure grayband. They actually get called mutts if they are non-locality? Beyond ridiculous!!

Yea, over there in the grayband forum, they didn't like this one at all I guess. Then someone posted about the new faces and Cappichino mocha grayband, so I will not be posting over there very often.
Pure alterna

Wow! That is awesome. Dave.

KcTrader May 25, 2011 10:03 PM

Thanks Dave, Like I said I posted it over in the Greyband forum and only one person said congrats, I put it over here and people appreciated it, IMHO. I have another female but she won't stay still for a picture but will post once she does. Then I have a pair of hets that are just your normal Blair phase. The original stock came from Black Gap area if my memory serves me correctly.

Wow!!..what the heck is the deal on that one's origin??

BTW, all of it's features look very authentic alterna to me too. They were just extremely jealous that YOU owned it, and not one of them. If one of the better-known forum rat's over there hatched it, or captured it, they would want to be looked upon as alterna "gods"..LMFAO!!

I can answer for you Jimmy.....LOL

It is a Dan Coffey line alterna.....It is actually a cool simple recessive morph too......

I do not remember the lineage of the Coffey line but I am sure Jimmy knows or someone else......I do believe it to be nothing but alterna......even if localities were crossed to produce it........

John. Quite interesting but it is actually one of my specimens I really haven't traced back in great detail yet. From the brief conversations I have had with some other alterna breeders is the original was Gap. Now I could be wrong. I will probably do my research on this more this winter. Thanks John. I say screw the snake gods they didn't listen to my dances this year....Lol

Being from Black Gap would not surprise me with the variability and mutant genes that do come from that locale......
I am sure Forks knows....maybe he will chime in......

LOL....the snake gods only listened to me halfheartedly........I guess I will make kill more sacrificial rodents next go round.......

Thanks man!!! It doesn't bother me, that is fine I wasn't the only one either, Jason Nelson posted some really cool Long Blotched GBK's and no one even gave him the time of day either on those. Maybe it's just the amount of traffic is slowly diminishing over there. I just feel if it's not micro local GBK it's worthless for that forum. Even though it is still an alterna in its own right. Oh well I will stop babbling...

Very nice group you have there, thanks for sharing, nothing better than seeing alterna after a long day.

Oh yea there is, an extreme hypo ultra plasma candy butter corn X pueblan x thayeri x ruthveni x greyband x pyro x zonata x honduran......Just kidding I was starting to think this was the other forum for a while.....

Thanks
