my little escapee...

AbsoluteRae Sep 29, 2003 05:03 PM

So, I came home last night after an 8 hour shift and I decided to read a little mythology before going to bed. My cats were playing near the snake cage with what I thought was a bug, so I didn't really pay attention. After a few minutes, I knew that this was no ordinary insect...with the interest my cats had with this creature it could be only one of two things: a scorpion or my worst fear. I ran over to them and turned over the cat toy they had taken interest in when *gasp* I saw my worst fear! My baby corn had escaped and my kitties had found her before I did! I basically threw the cats across the room and picked up my little baby. The weird part was, she didn't seem that freaked out. She had one small surface abrasion but is unharmed other than that. Man, what a trip, though. I never thought that I would get so pissed off at my cats.

Regardless, I found the escape route and patched it up then and there. The cats forgave me and my baby went right back to doing what she does best: hiding. All's well that ends well, I guess.

Are notorious for carrying pathogens(germs). You'd be better off if you washed your snake in a mild soap, then in case of infection, put a dab of polysporin on it.

Yes, thank you. Even my boyfriends mother mentioned this to me, and she hates snake. I've been watching her and the minute scratch seem inconsequential. And Nora seem as happy as ever. As for the cats...they keep looking up to the aquarium, probably wondering about their strange encounter.
