Plastic Grid for Egg Hatching

madusasmorphs May 25, 2011 09:28 PM

Wondering if any of you out there in 'Ball Python Land' has any idea as to where I can acquire the plastic tiny square grid material used in the hatchling tubs????

Thanks;
Sandy

It's light diffuser. They sell it at any home improvement store. Usually like 2' X 4' pieces.

At Home Depot and Lowes it's right with the drop ceiling tiles which are usually by the lumber dept.

Thank you for the info.

The ultimate irony is,when you look at the barcode sticker it will say eggcrate right on it.

Lowes or Home Depot.
It's in the lighting department. I use wire cutters like these to cut it. works great.

Wouldn't have been my first choice. I'd have thought a saw of sorts. Will try that out...Thank You! ...

This is our first year breeding & doing the whole incubator gig. Have received some fabulous tips along the way...Big thank you to Doug M & Dan W for all their GREAT input, as well as the dozen or so others that have been so willing to lend all of their advice & moral support... We're working on improving the mouse trap if you will, w/a full report to follow once the first batch pips in the end of June...If the gods smile, we will have Bumble Belly's in our future Best of luck to everyone...looking forward to seeing some OMG! babys babies from all of you.

Wire cutters are def the way to go. I use them on eggcrate all the time (we have saltwater corals) and it's perfect.

I actually use needle nose pliers and just break the diffuser in the shape that I need. 90% of the time, the "break" leaves no raised edges, where as the wire cutters leave a raised edge...if that makes sense. Try both and see what you like best.

Okay. Will try both & See how it goes.
Thanks;
Sandy
