getting my first Argentine...

724hp May 27, 2011 11:21 AM

In about a week i'll be picking up my first Argentine Boa. It's a male, about 4 months old. A friend got him, realized it's going to end up being too much snake for him, so it's coming to my house.

I figure i'll set him up about like i have my Dumerils... in a Boaphile, hot area of about 85-88, rest of the cage at 74-76, reptile bark, large water bowl, humidity kept around 65-70% (higher when in shed).

Will that environment enable the argentine to thrive and grow like crazy the way my dums have? or should i change it up a bit?

any informative input will be greatly appreciated.

THey have similar requirements..... You can follow the same guidlines you would for BCC when housing argentines.... as they are closely related... THey like cooler temps like BCC as well.... I would go hot side... 92 cool 82 night drops to 78-82 ... lots of humidity,,,,, cheers
