wow....I thought there were a bunch of amels out there Jeffrey...???? the HOT HOT orange ones CAN'T all be hypos???....can they???......either way....hypo and amel are all cool......

You're the one that got me curious as to what they look like!My hypos do look amel. till you look at the eyes,and of course the pupils are black! Jeff

I'm really starting to wonder if your hypo everglades rat is both hypo and amel, sort of like an ultramel. Ultramels are bright orange with the dark eyes. Who knows. I guess the only way to find out would be to breed it to your beautiful amel yellow rat. LOL, but then we wouldn't want to cause any controversies now would we?

If they were hybinos, there would be TONS of amels out there from these lines over the years. Your line, as well as most all of them out there originated from Bill Love's line from back in the late 80's, early 90's as far as I know.

I think they are just superb 100% nice hypomelanistic animals. Not a weird ultramel type mutation.

At least yours don't have the distant Gray Ratsnake(white oak phase) lineage the ultra/ultramels do..LOL!...that's a great plus in itself!

I just did a Google search for amel. everglades rats and most of the pics were of hypos and what looked to me like amel. yellows!! Jeff

yea....I hate ultra gene on corns...and I have just 4 corns left...and the male is ultramel lav and one female is ultra lav....and I still hate them...LOL....just like the color....and hate to give them away ...well...maybe....

....he got rid of them....someone crazy bought them...and them amel yellows are NUTS man....they bite anything that moves....literally.....female just shed tonight so I have to give her a good look over tomorrow....still have a weird color to them...........

I'd still also like to see amel yellow pics...amel glades pics....and more of them Moonshine pics.....did the male Moonshine get named Popcorn???....
