What's the best snake name you know?

curaniel May 28, 2011 01:03 AM

Recently I heard Rumplesnakeskin from dboyd1523, which makes me snort laugh. Some people name their snakes after gods or gemstones. What are some of your favorites?

My girlfriend has a sand boa named "sausage".

I adopted a rock python named "Bluto" and decided I liked it.

I have a forest cobra I've considered naming "Beelzebub" or something similar, but I mostly just call him things that would get my post removed...

My wife named our rescued snow corn "Bowie."
We also have Juno, Ocotillo, Lava, Phoenix, Psycho, Smeagol, Smaug, Ember, Maya, Aztec, Domino and GBK. The rest are unnamed.

Ooh, those are some good ones! My husband really wants to give a snake an Icelandic name, so I told him he needs to get us something leucistic Otherwise it just doesn't work on my tropical boids lol!

Icelandic, that sounds cool.
My brother named all his snakes after famous pirates. He's since sold most of them, but he still has Sir Francis Drake and Calico Jack.

i have a pair of argentine boas named Raegan and Pazuzu from the Exocist series.

had a vicious jungle carpet named Lucifer... the thing was

had a cal king named Nike because of a nike swoosh on his head

If i ever get a male blood red corn, it's name will be Dexter

The oddest name here was an adult male wild caught blood python that was tame as a kitten and had gone thru several homes. Captive lifespan I think before I got him was around 14 years. He hung out here for a while. His name was Mrs.Snakeypants.

Altho when talking reptiles, I have the coolest name out there for anything, I think.

My grand cayman blue iguana hybrid is named.....

Osama Binguana.

Kind of a late reply, but Cynthia the pair of boas I had 30 years ago were named Charles and Cynthia!

My alternas now are named after mountains in Alaska, where I grew up:
Brooks, Katmai, Susitna

And by head patterns (cornsnakes):
Arrow and Claw

I jokingly refer to my rubber boas as Tootsie and Turd.

But, I really almost never use their names when refering to them. I guess it never has come naturally to me to call something by a name when it has no way of responding to that name.

Here is a pic of Tootsie and Turd:

The best I have seen yet was a friend of mine hatched out an albino Burmese that was born with no eyes, Another friend wanted him (saved him from the freezer) and named him "Seymour"

I thought a good name for a leucistic Ball would be Lucille (Ball) Y
