South Mountains Locale EGGS!

westernNC May 29, 2011 09:48 PM

I have enjoyed keeping everyone on here updated as I found my first NC foothills locality corn last April and then found a female this April with the help of my good friend Dave Niles...Enjoying the responses as I updated you guys with the finds and the breeding.

Got back from a day trip with the family today to find the South Mountains locality female with 16 good eggs!!! So excited!!! I'm talking 30 trips to the area looking for corns over 10 years, so many hours of study on top of that, to land a locality pair from a unique locale where corns are seldom found.

I plan to hold back quite a few of these babies to see how they color up and line breed them from the locality. Happy day when I saw this...

I'm really enjoying sharing the project on here. I can't wait to see what the babies look like. Hoping for some babies with wide black bands like the father.

Will post pics as soon as they hatch!

Later,
Michael
