Miami outdoor pics...

a153fish Jun 01, 2011 05:36 AM

This Myrtle bush was in full bloom, and I couldn't pass up the chance to take some pics of my best Miami with it.

Gorgeous snake, and perfect backdrop for a photo shoot! The one closeup on the actual flowers really shows how light the gray is, almost white!

Love that light background color - like the one that the rare, beautiful, S.F. garter snakes have!!!
Is that one het for a S.F. Garter? (Just kidding).
That's a NICE one there - REALLY NICE....
That reminded me of a baby Golden corn in 07' that had a very light background color, much lighter than all his siblings, and of course HE is the one that mysteriously died only about two weeks after hatching.....Here's a pic of him:

Why is it the ones we freak out about, that always seem to get sick or die?

That one looked special for sure!

This often works: next time you get a unique hatchling, say to yourself and it that you do not care and will be happy to sell it. Then it will thrive for you.

I tried it this year with a gorgeous cornsnake baby. It is eating and growing. Tell myself everyday I don't care to keep it.

Yeah maybe that's what we have to do, lol. I had a bay hatch out last year from WC parents that looked like a Motley Bloodred! of course it was a runt and didn't survive.

Yeah, right out of the egg: "Look at that UGLY snake with those bright colors that looks different than its' siblings. Think I'll GIVE that one to my neighbor's kid for FREE, LOL!!!!"
....Hey, it's worth a shot (at this point I'm willing to try just about anything)...

Wow Zee!,....you would never guess in a million years that those would turn into those awesome "Golden corn" phenotypes!

So sad that it passed-on my friend....

Thanks.
I think that one would've probably been the one with the most intense gold blotches too, since it was the lightest colored one.....

Yes, that is too bad bro. It seems that some of the most prospective and often unique animals in a clutch are sometimes the one's that don't make it.

Wow Zee! That's a real shame that little guy passed!Do all of the "visual" goldens start out with dark saddles like that one?

I have 11 Miami eggs cooking from my original pair. I'll let you know when they hatch.

Yeah, I hear ya there!. I wish I could, but can't risk the communal townhome neighbors seeing it going on(and they would)..LOL!

Too bad I don't still live out where I captured your "Big Bertha" corn, I could do absolutely anything I wanted to there.

I remember now, lol. Your photos are fine the way the are. Your pictures seem to be much crisper than mine. I like the way outdoor pics come out without the flash, but if the animal moves even a little, the pics come out blurry. That second one was with out flash.

Wow, what a beaut. I'm seriously considering adding a Miami or two to my collection soon.

a153fish Jun 06, 2011 02:32 PM

It's hard for me to pick a favorite Corn snake, but I have always loved a good looking Miami, or a Crimson, which is just a hypo Miami.

You have first pick so they should turn out just as nice as that one. I'll just make sure they are eating well, before hand.
