First time breeder, couple of questions

Synn Jun 02, 2011 11:11 PM

Firstly, my female is now over 200g.
I'm honestly a bit freaked out about putting her in with my male. He's so sweet and small compared to her, and she's pretty into flaring her hood up, hissing and striking at me or anything that moves. Is he going to be safe?
How long do you put them together to ensure she's pregnant? do you watch them to make sure they are getting along?

I'll add more questions as I think of them.. Thanks

Don't worry about the size difference. I have bred 45 gram males to 400 gram females. They won't act the same to a potential mate as the do to you(a threat.) Just don't feed them together, or introduce them right after they have fed.

Check out the breeding section of my care sheet. It should help you out.
