Question about wet egg

nipro_style Jun 07, 2011 08:38 PM

Ok, so my first clutch is in the incubator and I've noticed that one egg has one spot that it's little wet (something like transparent).
Is it critical? I mean, do I need to do something about it?
Can it kill the egg? Can it get mold?
Since it's my first clutch, I have no expirience at it...
Thanks in advance...

Not seeing the egg, I would guess your egg has what's referred to as a 'window'. This is a normal occurrance & nothing to freak out over. Best of luck w/your new clutch!

As artificial incubationists, we all try our very best to keep eggs dry; from raising them on grating to perfectly mixing our perlite/vermiculite mixture with the correct watre ratios. Direct contact with water is something we try to avoid at all costs. Water definitely kills eggs. Keep your eye on it, there is nothing you can do at this point except to remove it from the situation that got it wet in the first place.
Good luck.
