Has anyone had any success with dinker balls? Are they worth trying out?
Definitely worth it.
I'm fairly sure the Superstripe, Crystal, and Highway ball all came from dinkers...
as well as Super granites, and phantoms/mojaves.
I'd say...yes.

This one worked out for me (new line of chocolates):

But it is a valid question, especially now that some really awesome proven morphs are so afordable. I have a dinker male I'm opting to do some breeding but it's hard to pick out a female to dedicate to him when I could use a proven male and KNOW I can produce something. At least with my dinker females I can just make them one of several females to breed a proven male.
I got a wierd male and a normal female from someone that was moving and that had them for about 10yrs. The male looked really different, kinda grey, faded with really nice white/grey flames and grey markings on belly. I bred him this year to 2 normal girls, one clutch hatched and the other is in the incubator. The babies came out with the same pattern and flames as the sire, not quite the same color, but I expect them to dull out as adults. They are just really different looking, kinda like Joliff Tigers with really nice contrast and serious flames. With the next clutch I will know for sure if he is really genetic. I could have bred him to a Spider and Pastel female, but didn't want to chance him being just a normal. Long story short dinkin is fun; if you have a snake you think is worth it. It's like gambling; and I like gambling.
