Just wondering what the earliest day you have cut at is? I've got some eggs from pastel het pied to het pied that I am just DYING to know about...

You might be a ball python fanatic if you subconsciously convert the price of virtually everything in to units of piebald ball pythons

Earliest that I have ever cut is day 48 when incubating at 89. You should be able to see if you got any pieds at least just by candling them.

I had to,, I really had to ...we wait 10 years to buy and breed colors and people cannot wait...4 days?..a week?..

all the time ,every year, week after week,...here it is again...

kill them ,cut on day 28...we don't care people...

as for cutting for real again....after 68.7 % of the clutch pips...cut the rest,....if they are dead...they would be dead anyways....and out of every 100 eggs you are going to lose something.....

I have come to think of my eggs like a really cool parcel that I am expecting to come from UPS. As excited as you are about it coming, there should be nothing you can do but wait until it gets there.

I couldn't help it...I come home from work and all I find...year after year, is the same crap....in the cage, and online...LOL...

really...I waited 10 years to buy an albino ball, 10 years for cave ratsnakes(ridleyi) ,and probably 10 years for amel nelsoni....not because I couldn't afford to buy them ....but why?...why pay $2000 for amel nelsoni?...I paid $35...and sell them usually...for 20$ ...people just don't buy them anymore...and we knew it would be so...same for amel balls...sell a few years for fair cash back...then ...$2000.....then bam $200...that's what they sold for for the last 4 years ? here...usually...unless you want to set at tables 3 times a month in 3 cities and try and get the extra for them...wait...food ,gas,tables and hotels...naaaah....same with ridleyi...what will they go for in a month??? I hope something..?..I got eggs....and as for amel Korean rats,,,$200 paid...and by the time I get eggs....$20...LOL....

wait another week.....why not...your wife will make you wait a week...wait...nevermind....that's his wife....not yours? theirs...whatever.....

have fun...really...this is fun ....150 snakes.(and that's low number for me)....you have to like it......and I have to plug in another incubator....man.....3 are full.....I hate waiting 60 days too....10 more days ...I get more pips....!...

Love the wife comment. So true (along with everything else). Gotta wonder sometimes who's really in control of the Balls around here.

Oooooooh, we know who's in charge of the Balls, but how bout' the snakes?

Ultimatly you are going to do what you want but i would say dont cut until one pips if you must cut. if you can wait and let them do it on their own its better. if by day 60-63 depending on temps you dont see any pipping cut one to check on them. just my opinion.

Just wait the extra couple days. Don't cut em unless your suspicious about the eggs. I had a clutch from Ghost x Het. Ghost earlier this year. Each time a head pipped it was another ghost. I took a week or so for em all to pipe. It was killer. In the end, out of 6 eggs, I had 7 ghosts. Yes I had twins in the one egg!!! Man the excitement over that clutch....but I just let em be. Seriously, you waited this long and unless you don't like how long they're taken or don't like how they look, just let em be. Good luck on your clutch by the way!!!

You must be the type of person that always tried to find the Christmas presents the day you know your parents brought them home...you sneaked to the tree all week long ripping the corner of presents or un-wrapping and the re-wrapping them just to know...lol

Be patient grasshopper...breed them and they will come.

Cutting takes the fun out of the surprise of what was created plus the risk of the egg yoke drying out to fast...and most of the time people cut them to give them a window to come out of and usually they still make their own exit hole...the want to use that egg tooth...

Me??? No I thought Santa really existed till I was 25!!! I'm still reeling from that one.....LOL I alwaysed wondered why my parents knew what I was getting before I did!!!! haha

And yeah Jeff is extremely funny! I feel very privileged to know him and stop to talk to him at the shows cause I just love his perspective on life and snakes!!

yea...I have the pleasure of putting up with him all day this Saturday at Hamburg...were setting up next to each other...at least

yea...it's gonna be a blast...like the blast from a furnace at work....HOT!!! stinky and crowded....just without the sand in my lungs and skin...?....LOL...I don't WANT to go....I just have to....got the table so I might as well suffer a little...I don't know how people do like 50 to 75 shows a year....I do like 5 or 6 and wish it was less.....like the last one...sold 0 to the public...you imagine that...0....how?.....so I sell them to Fred and Ian and people can pay the extra $ to them...makes no sense to me sometimes....and actually I hatched just 9 little milks and 6 balls so far, so it's early.....

Last year, I made an error on the hatchling date on the calender. I was over 1 week earlier and since there was nothing happenning I cut the clutch.

They were all healthy, but it took them longer to hatch, they were all dehydrated so I had to add water. I was lucky to not lose any of them. Might not happen next time.

I prefer now to wait for the first one to pip, then cut the others. That way I am sure everything is fine and I don't mess with what's not supposed to be.

water....

to clean the flesh from skulls...my brother just sets them in a bucket of water...and changes it frequently...water will "eat" the flesh right off the bone, without boiling it all....flesh has been eaten off of live humans shipwrecked and in the water out to sea....sad....sooo
adding water to an open egg may kill the flesh faster? I don't know...have I added water to an open egg? , yes....but I really hate doing it...
