Talk about poor calcification!

Thought you all might get a kick out of these. Most would have thrown them away when they were laid from the way they looked. See through eggs!!! I had one last year like this that hatched a screamer Kern County Zonata. Hope these hatch as well. At least I can see the developement happening!

That will be awesome to see the developing stages of the embryo through them. Hope they go the distance for ya Joe.

I really hope the egg can handle just a bit of swelling as most eggs can typically do. I sure hope it does. The other "z" he hatched out of a similar egg must have been awesome to watch develop.

Fascinating! I guess if no molds attack them they should hatch okay.

Neat opportunity to make observations aside, what are the thoughts on the cause of this? Diet, environment, genetics.....

Back in the early seventies, I had a local strain(a genetic line) of Cal king that produced see thru eggs. They hatched just fine and it was a great learning experience to SEE them develop.

Thats a funny question. Back then if you had a picture, the only way to show anyone was to mail it to them over snail mail.

We use to carry albums to shows when shows first started, hahahahahahaha of course, back then there were NO shows.

I made a cam out of a box and a nail. It was a pain in the bum.

Actually slides were soon to become popular. I have boxes and boxes of those. Thousands.

Also, no one actually cared, there were maybe a dozen herpers in the west and a few more in texas, and New York at a few. The distances were too great to actually comunicate.

It was a different day.
OH and it was very unpopular to keep snakes. Now its normal. who what have thunk

I remember the polaroids that would develope in front of you, lol!

..and if I recall, long distance phone costs could $add$ up quickly. an hours wages for a student might only cover 5 to 15 minutes

I remember thinking I was the only one who liked snakes. I kept and bred black rats and eastern kings for several years but never gave a second thought to the possibility of marketing them. Who would have thunk indeed.

I used to breed Speckled Kings and Yellow rats, but it was a lot harder to market them back then. There weren't any shows, and we didn't have the internet, or Fed Ex shipping.
