I got a story for you…
I bought two animals from well known breeders (one in the usa and the other from germany)
At the time the fire was bought was a female and the African import was bought as a male…..
Almost 3 years later down the road I pair them up hoping the fire will lay some eggs and prove out the import.
When the time comes….the African import (what was supposed to be male) laid eggs. When I saw that I popped and probed the fire….sure nuff the fire was a male (what was supposed to be female)
I kept the only fire that came from the clutch….which I do believe the import had some play with it. plan to breed him back to mom…when she feels to gain some weight again.
…..so long story short…..anything is possible.

>>Has anyone purchased a normal female that was said to have been witnessed locking with a male and got eggs?....didn't get eggs? I have never purchased a normal female that has been "seen" locking with a male. It is a reputable breeder, but my question is basically....have YOU ever purchased a normal female that was said to have locked, and did or did not get eggs? Is the gamble worth it? I mean, it is a little late in the season to think that she would lay any eggs right?
