Nice cal clutch

snakekate Jun 10, 2011 10:07 AM

Super fat female king laid her eggs on the 7th, had 12 in total, all are hefty some around 2 inches long...well except the one haha. But not too bad for her second clutch.

Nice health looking eggs! What do the parents look like? There are so many morphs of Cal kings is why I ask.

Thats a lot of eggs. Did you have to breed her a second time to get the double clutch? I'm not quite sure how that works.

The parents are a normal coastal banded female and high yellow male. This is only her second clutch of eggs is what I meant, she laid 5 last year, and I fattened her up before and after a 3 month brumation(with food)this year and got double. This is a pic of one of there first babies.

I keep Cal kings too and have not seen that kind of increase in eggs from one year to another. Nice looking high white/aberrant.

I fed her alot more, and brumated them longer as well. I also kept the male at cooler temps when he was out of brumation. She laid 9 eggs total her first clutch(3 infertile and 5 good ones)This time there was 12 total(only 2 infertile and 10 good)So It was a nice improvement.
