new to Ball Pythons

precisionpythons Jun 13, 2011 11:20 PM

Hello I am new to Ball Pythons. I have bred reptiles for over 20 years but now turning all my attention to the Ball Python. Is there anywhere that posts what genes are recessive, dominant, co-dom, etc... In the ball python. I also purchaced my first ball python breeders. I have a male Mojave, male piebald, and male pastel. I also have a female mojave, 3 normal females, a female pastel, female cinnimon, and pinstripe female. I heard that two mojaves will produce a blue eyed leucistic (all white)?? Thanks so much I know this is a lot to ask but where else is there to ask?

WOW good site!!! I appreciate that. I love the genetic wizard. Well I am glad I chose ball pythons. Seems the possibilities are limitless. I have bred beardies, kingsnakes, corns, rankins, hognose snakes, sulcatas, even caiman but the balls take the cake when it comes to morphs and patterns. Again thanks for the site. It is very very helpful. I have a degree in genetics and micro-bio so the ball pythons seem to be best suited to me. Well any reputable breeders that people have had good luck with would be helpful as well. I need to start getting set up.
Thanks

I've only dealt with a few breeders, and they've all been awesome.

Outback Reptiles
Sloan Reptiles
and Cider Reptiles

I've done quite a bit of business with Outback. 26 snakes total (but 20 were Ghana babies)

If you talk to Josh at Outback, tell him Luke sent you. Haha.

Will do thanks again. I will try them. Maybe if I get enough they will cut you a deal for the good word.

That would be pretty sweet. I've had my eye on an adult black pastel they have. Haha.
