VERY impressed with the PowerSun MV Bulb

ooanwfndglryoo Sep 29, 2003 09:32 PM

Hello everyone! I had just recently purchased a Power Sun mercury vapor bulb and reiko had asked to post a review once I had it for a few days. The first day with the bulb I did not notice any changes in my Flo’s behavior or appearance. The second and third day with the bulb in the tank, however, is a different story. Today Flow ate honestly about 85 3/8” crickets and her color looks amazing. She shed her tail and actually looks very plump. Her green looks very bright and her orange looks even brighter. I am going to post pictures as soon as I get my new digital camera =) I feel that it will be a good time to test it out….I’m getting the Pentax Optio 550 if anyone has it they can share with me their thoughts on it if they feel like doing so.

All in all, I am extremely pleased with this bulb and it was worth every cent. The bulb is a 100 watt and is placed about a foot from the basking spots highest point and I’m getting 110 degree temps from the MV bulb alone =) The bulb does take about 30 seconds to warm up after lights on but after that the tank temps rapidly rise to well in the hundreds in about 20 minutes. I feel that my dragon is happier now with the bulb so I am also happier =)
