Breeding rats & SAFE temp ranges

I have a breeding rack set up in my shop right now the only weather safegaurd is that the walls are insulated but other then that theres no heat in that side of the shop.Just wanting to know what to plan on for any potential breeding effects.As of now i have only two that havejust had litters there first aslo14 each which are 4 days old just wandering what temps aresafew/o causing deaths or RI any inputis GREATLY appreciated

I keep my rats in an outdoor shed. If it's going to get below 50, I leave a ceramic heater on. You could use a red light bulb also, I just happen to have had a ceramic heater laying round. When we get to that time of year that it's that cool most nights, I put it on a timer. If thats not possible, try covering 1/3 or 1/2 of the cage top. They generate quite a bit of body heat. Be careful not to cause to much condensation though, that can lead to RI.

Ok thanks for the info i figured they would be ok dueto not all rats live in nice lil bins with warm aspen shavings and all the mushy stuff lol in the wild I have a oil radiator heater i can put beside there rack so that should keepem snug inth bed thanks again
