Breeding cresteds

I am a first time crested breeder and I have a few questions. First of all I have 1.3. A pair of reds, an orange girl, and a green girl. The orange and the green are both over a year and a half, and the reds are about 7 months. When do cresteds start breeding? and how big of a nest box should i provide? (if any?)Also, Can cresteds be overweight? My cage is 2x2x3 foot, do you think i would have room for 1.4? Thanks 4 reading>

Mine start to breed between 10-12 months old.
that cage is more than enough room for 1.4, especially if you create more surface area with cage decor.
good luck

I would just keep the group you have now in the large cage(which I assume you have been doing. The females will breed when they are ready.
good luck

Some crested geckos can start breeding at 10 months; however the minimum that should be allowed is 12 with 14 being more ideal for the animal. You only need a small plastic container for a nest box, such as a cool whip container, just cut a hole in the side or top. Crested geckos can become over weight esp if too much fruit is given, you should see my auircs….lol. The cage size you mentioned is perfect for 1.4, although it will be harder to keep track of who is eating and laying, which could be a problem if someone is sick or laying under calcified eggs (you need to know who to separate). If you need more info just drop me an e-mail I will send you a complete interactive care-guide, with everything you need to know including breeding. Best of Luck .
