So I cut my first clutch today. Dinker female x CH YB (and she bred a Silver streak last year)

Well...one egg died early...
and when I cut the remaining 4 today, two were almost full term and dead...

the real kick to the groin...the dead ones look like they could have been pewters...and one was REALLY nice.

This is the first one...though it could also have been an underdeveloped Yellowbelly...

But this one...definitely looks like it was a pewter. The egg was tiny...
and it had a nice stripe of blushing on it's spine that the camera didn't pick up all the way.

(Yes, that's a piece of the tail. I accidentally cut it off trying to remove the dead baby from it's egg.)

7 years I've wanted a pewter...I finally possibly get one, and it's dead.

with the babies being dead the full color might not of came in. might have been really nice lookin normals or yellowbellies.

doesnt mean they are pewters, i had 1 die in the egg last year that was out of a clutch that ended up being all normals, looked exactly like that. color hadnt come in at the point it died, very deceptive. odds are it was a normal or yb

That sucks. May you get better odds on the rest of your clutches. If it makes you feel any better, those were not Pewters.
