male with male

we want to put two male snakes in the same tank. one's about 5 years old and 6 feet long; a common boa. the other is a male guyanne red tail who's two years old and about 3 1/2 feet long. the tank is 4x2x4. They are both in good health and eat with no problems. I know i would have to feed them apart, just to be on the safe side, and i understand the risk if one gets sick, but besides that, what are the downsides? Will they fight?

The cage is too small for both. A single boa should have a minimum floor space of 4x2.

Greetings:
When I had a lot of boas I housed all specimens individually but during breeding I frequently put 2 males on a female. Never saw any agonistic behavior whatsoever.
As long as you're still building if possible go larger. Although with height you could add a shelf, even heat it with a piece of flexwatt. SJM

I have two males together. They are between 4 and 5 feet long and seem to be quite happy together. They sometimes lay on either side of the tank but usually, they're coiled together. I haven't seen a single disagreement yet. I'd say, go for it.
