Man leaves courthouse after being told pet snake not allowed
A visitor to the King County Courthouse in Seattle last Friday placed his backpack on the X-ray machine at the Third Avenue entrance to the building.
But the security screener noticed something strange in the image of the backpack: a coiled snake.
A court marshall asked the man if he had a “pet” in his backpack and the man acknowledged he did. Then he was told no pets were allowed in the courthouse.
“In any case the man (and his snake) left in a huff,” said Sgt. John Urquhart, spokesman with the King County Sheriff’s Office in a news release. “The courthouse rats breathed a sigh of relief, as did many of us snake-haters as well.”
