food intake daily for a small monitor

GeckoTribe Jun 20, 2011 08:43 AM

Hello,
I am just wondering for a small savannah say about 8-9 inches long on average how much food should he be taking in? I got his temps and habitat all right just wanted to know food wise.
Thanks

Just what he wants, no less.

I offer him all I can, on average hes eating 8-12 medium sized gutloaded & dusted crikets, and 2 super worms that are supplmeneted as well.

Hi Gecko Tribe,
do you have any photos you can put up of the monitor and the set-up? Thanks!

Yes a setup pic and description would be good to see. I like to offer mice at least once, if not twice a week for small ones. Pinkies are ok but really a cut up hopper is better.

Not at the moment but I can describe vivdly whats going on there/
I have 6 inches of dirt with the hot side having a climbing branch and a burried stone cave that doubles as a hide spot he can heat up on and as a basking platform. on the coolside theres his rather large wate bowl and another cave he can hide in. the basking temp is about 120 and it is a 50 way halogen flood bulb.
