Dan I have to do some back peddling here. Earlier this year I was seriously over excited when I posted feelings about
this nice Pastel type BWC litter with aberrant patterns.
I still feel bad about my mistake, now I'm quite certain I made
an incorrect Jungle call.
I believe the body color and dorsal lateral color shift is wrong. Plus his tail color and even more importantly
his dark tail borders are not significantly enough reduced.
It does have an aberrant pattern which includes missing saddle points, a broken head spear, also a slit in the head spear.
Plus the Pastel type influence does reduce the black tail borders somewhat.
I don't believe the dark tail border reduction is significant
enough in this case to classify these as Jungles.
I believe these are probably very nice Pastel type Boas with aberrant patterns.
This might also explain why some Jungle litters are extremely aberrant and others are less aberrant. Some having
really nice colorful Jungles with crisp patterns but low on aberrant patterns.
Possibly there is a second ingredient that mixes with the Jungle
trait that allows for super crazy aberrant patterns.
Maybe we are seeing that other trait expressed here. ![]()
The only way to take the guess work out of the equation and find
out if this is truly a Jungle. In my opinion would be to breed
it with a known Jungle and produce Super Jungles.

My plans exactly. I have some who say it sure looks a lot like a jungle (experienced breeders) and some who say no.I know everything says its not possible. Maybe in 2 yrs we will know for sure. Thanks
I just read your post and am wondering where there is a clearly defined example, either written or even with photo references, on what makes a jungle a jungle and what kind of statistics you'd be looking at for the jungle trait(s) to show through in a breeding? You cant always hold back a whole litter for breeding trials, and if you did and bred offspring that had aberrant patterns, whats to say those babies are aberrant or jungles?
This term "jungle" has been thrown around quite a bit down south here and its been quite confusing to know what you're looking at. How can one person say for sure your snake is not a jungle yet their snake that looks almost exactly like yours, most definitely be a jungle?!
Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated by myself as well as others, I'm sure!!! Thanks!!
