Aww.. My normal wants to be a carrot tail for Halloween.

Locke didn't have ANY orange at all when I got him a few months ago, and he was already an adult at the time. I take it as a sign that my big boy has gotten healthier under my care! It's not a very intense orange, but it's also more than just some flecks on the tail. I think it looks very becoming on him.

i didnt know that !My Gecko is just like yours and she also developed some orange color! Orange color in Geckos means good health or sexual maturity?Mine is only 9 months i wonder at which age Geckos reach sexual maturity!

By the way, your baby looks splendid!

He was very dull and had shedding problems when I got him, but now he shows improvement on everything. The brighter color kind of came with the weight gain over the summer, and the orange on his tail didn't show up until pretty recently. I hope it stays though!

Sexual maturity doesn't really depend on the age (it can be a year to 18 months) or size but more on the weight. It's not unusual for females to stop eating while they're gravid, and they need that extra body mass to help them get through. You want a female to be at least 40 grams; 50 is better.

That coloring is normal for the leo you have. It has to be a LOT more coverage and intense to be considered special or carrot tail.
