L.t.t. eggs and an aberrant

Joe_M Jun 21, 2011 06:40 PM

Unfortunately as I suspected at least 8 of nine from my first clutch of eastern eggs from the albino were not good. They went moldy and began to stink after a couple days. I am keeping my fingers crossed for one, but I think it is bad too.

Bad eggs...

The good news is I got another clutch last night which look much better.

The 2 on top appear to be one that looks like it twisted (like a balloon animal). Does anyone have experience with this?

And here's a neat slightly aberrant eastern milk I flipped about a week ago.

Joe, I have a pueblan that lays one of those twisted egg thingy's every year. Most of the time the are just infertile eggs, this year half looked good the other half didn't. It lasted about 3 - 5 weeks and then went sour and collapsed. Hope this helps, also great looking aberrant!

.........yea..you would have to untwist it so it had room to grow....it might make it but it would be a runt...

my pueblan lays twisted slugs all the time now....I am about done with them....no idea what to do.....they hate me I guess?....

So Jeff, would you recommend trying to untwist this egg? My guess is it would break in two...

ONLY way you would untwist it would be while it was still wet...and movable...too late once it sets...

mine are always duds...so NO I never untwisted one...

....good luck...it happens....

...I had a black corn years ago that would lay a peanut or two every year...2 or three ovum all connected....the one year two from a double hatched ....the next 2 from a triple......the next they all died when the end one went bad....due to incomplete seal on the end......not the same thing but long egg ...

....hopefully she doesn't do it often....

Good Luck...

Does anyone know where I can get some hybrids to feed my King Cobra? I dont want to use real snakes.

Those eggs look to me like they are just connected with a thin strand of shell material. I have seen that once in a while. I have also seen eggs with little "curly cues" at the end that resembled the top of soft ice cream cone just after it was made. I think I would just leave them be just as they are and see what happens.

Good luck with them Joe. That's a real nice Eastern you flipped too bro!

Hey Joe,

Sorry to hear about the eggs molding over. that is a major bummer but happens to all of us. Good news is it looks like you did get another good clutch there!

That is an interesting looking eastern you flipped. Cool find!

That second clutch looks just fine, man. Am I reading correctly that they're also from the "special" male? Nice work, regardless.

Thanks Cole. I hope the albino is the sire, but I can not be sure. I brought home an interesting WC female with little to no red coloration. When I put her in with the albino he was all over her and I left them alone. I was never possitive that she was gravid as I couldn't feel the eggs in her like I could with the female that dropped the bad clutch. A little over a month later she dropped this clutch. Looks like I'll have to keep them all and see what happens in a couple years. Take care,

Joe
