When I die, I want to go peacefully like my Grandfather did, in his sleep -- not screaming, like the passengers in his car.

If you are looking for a great plastic rack then the Reptile Basics one is great for the price and availability! We have also used Animal Plastics and they have a great quality product.

As for the metal type racks... ARS has a great line but I absolutely LOVE the new Shiny Coated Freedom Breeders! Neat improvements!

Like you I researched all of the rack manufacturers when transitioning from tanks as my collection grew. I came to the conclusion that ARS would work for me. I was right.
You must consider the requirements of the reptiles first, and your ease of maintenance second, and money last (I know that is a rough one sometimes).

Things like the vent holes as well as the air gap between the tub and the rack itself. I tried a couple of the older Freedom Breeder ones (found them used locally) and I have more shedding problems with the balls in those racks. Plus the way the tubs slide in and out of the FB's are much rougher than the ARS ones. I was basically spoiled after using the ARS racks. I did an short comparison on youtube if you want to check out ARS & FB racks.

The best advise I heard was "to buy the best equipment you can". Alan Bosch was right because buying the best did save me time, worry, and eventually eggs!
