heavy breathing

spared Sep 30, 2003 12:35 AM

Hi,
I'm new here and I have a question. I have a baby turtle that is having some wiered heavy breathing. Whenever I take him out of the water and then put him back in, he'll climb onto his basking spot and open his mouth wide and then his neck becomes huge. It looks like he's breathing heavily. After a couple of times doing this he stops. Is he sick or is this normal? PLEASE HELP!
THANKS!!!!

That sounds normal, mine does that too when he is basking. As long as he isn't weezing, swimming lopsided or not eating, I wouldn't worry about it.
