Time to bump it up a notch!!!

Well, the time has come; as they grow so must the enclosure! Mitchell has reached the 4 foot mark and I feel that his 20 gal long is just not enough space anymore. So I started thinking about making an enclosure for him, well probably my fiance` (not b/c I can't do it, just b/c I know he'll end up taking over, lol).

I wanted to go ahead and make this his forever home, something approx. 36x24x18, 6 feet of floor space and enough height to add some nice decor. I had already drawn up the plans (using Dave C.'s BRILLENT 4" connecting pipe idea) when I found a bargin! A 36x28x18 Vision terrarium, just under 7 ft of floor space, for $75!!!

I've always wanted to try one out but at $260 there was just no way! I think this guy will be really humidity friendly though, with just a couple minor modifications! I'll probably cover one of the two vent holes in the back top, then just put the heat lamp in it's place, slap a heat mat or two (depending on the temp situation) on that bad boy and you've got a brazilian paradise.

It's also going to give me the space i've been wanting to add a live plant or two. I have a medium Spider Plant that I've been growing for just this occation, i'll probably just leave it in it's small pot to regualte the size and help with stability.

Any suggestions on some "playground" ideas would be awesome! I think I'm going to have a little more space then Im going to know what to do with! lol!
Have a great day everyone! I'll get some pictures posted once it's all set up and ready for move in!

Congrats on the bargain!!!

I've never tried one so can't really say much about them. Good thing ith BRB's is they do not require a lot of heat, bad thing is the humidity but sounds like you've got plans for both.

as for the "playground" nothing closed that does not come apart like a plastic skull. beyond that it's whatever you want to deal with for cleaning and difficulty of getting the snake detangled from.
