Concerns with a new Corn

Bryar_Rose Sep 30, 2003 01:22 AM

I just got a corn this weekend, and he is my first snake. I am a little concerned about his behavior however... everynight, late at night (around 11pm) he will slither around his aquarium rubbing his nose up against the glass, climbing a bit, falling, slithering a bit more, all the while rubbing his nose. Does this mean anything? He has lots of branches and silk plants to play with.
He is about 3 months old and I got him from a petstore, but I took him to the vet and they say he looks good. Is this normal behavior? Will he rub his nose raw?

Just down to the point. Cornsnakes are nocturnal, just like most snakes are great escape artists, so its also probally trying to find its way out of the cage. Dont worry about it 'rubbing its nose raw', they are usually a little more intelligent than that.

Oh ya, another thing. Since they are nocturnal, its very common for them to come out of their hiding place a while after the lights go out just to feel safe (when they are young). So 11pm sounds just about right, coming out after a long day of light.
