RED MILKS What is prettiest locale?

greybanded Jun 24, 2011 03:58 PM

What are considered the prettiest locales for Red Milks. Not looking for hypos or extremely unusual patterns. Just great red that continues on into adulthood and light banding that does not newspaper up in adulthood. Or do they all newspaper up eventually? Thanks.

also add....prettiest that eat well as hatchlings and grow the largest...if you could get all three things....aaaaah...

I have 3 locales...had another yet but the girl died after a year or so , so I got rid of the male....they are all nice and all different....the one female is small....old enough to breed yet too small....so size matters too....

......the guys on here all have great reds, or see great reds in the wild....keep watching if you don't get the amswers you want....

....just pretty........hmmmm....I'll go look at the three.....

......Lake Perry is probably the most common....and the head pattern is cool....but they got dark and blurred I think...

I gotta take my glasses along...>>>>

I think you'll have to define "pretty".
What constitutes "pretty" in your opinion?
Milks are so variable, they are all attractive
in their own ways.
I'm really only into wild-caught.
I love Winston County, Alabama syspila.
They are SO damn hard to find.
Ten years of bustin ass and I've only found
a few. I think they are beautiful.

No, JY, I'm not a breeder. I just found the question of what is the prettiest "locale" to be an interesting one. Not right or wrong, just interesting. I'm not sure if I even understand what "locality" means or even if it is a valid concept. Maybe someone can explain it in terms of the high variability of Milk snakes.

Yeah I've gotta agree w/ Scott, there is to much variability out there to ever brake it down to one or two states. By county would be impossible. But hey lets try- Lets see what we can post up for syspila, locality or non-locality.
Scott started us off w/ a great looking Red milk, I'll try w/ one or two.

Non-locality female

Marion Co. neonate.

I'll keep a few up my sleeve and post more after you all post a few of yours. Bring it!

The ones Dell photographs! Here's a couple of mine, portrayed using Dell's skills.

Number two

Jeff Hardwick has got a nice group (serious understatement, to say the least). Here are a few photos from last time I was out at his place.

Any info on the giant orange group? That looks amazing and would like to get some like that. Also recently offered on kingsnake were some Buchanan County, MO animals that looked amazing and Johnson County, IL Terra Cotta that looked really nice but quite different. Just trying to find the best looking locality animals that hold their looks into adulthood. I don't have much experience with red milks-just trying to find out what's out there. Thanks
