Now how did I get a new pet in my old set up?? LOL!

trinacliff Sep 30, 2003 07:24 AM

I was spraying the plants in one of my old set ups so that, hopefully, they will stay alive until I actually can take them out, wash them and use them again...that is, if I EVER find a little GIRL carpet. LOL!

Anyway, I saw this little thing running around, and I turn on the light to find a little baby lizard (ok, I have no idea about anoles, etc...LOL...just one that you'd call a lizard)...it's mostly grey and has some black on it. Probably, just a typical one...but I found it humourous...how did it get in there? I doubt with all the digging, etc that I did when setting it up, that any eggs would survive...but who knows. Anyway, I have a temporary pet, and when I go to set it up, I'll let him go. He was VERY happy to see the water...poor thing...I was killing it and didn't even know it. I put some FF in there too...hopefully, he'll chow down.

Wow! No chance it's a baby brevi??????? the color you describe doesn't sound much like an anole, rather like a gecko. did you have the cage open so it could have gotten in?? Peruse the pix on google images search and/or the gallery here. Let us know! Figure out what it is before you let it go!

I wish that it was a baby Brevi...how fun that would be! The though crossed my mind when I first saw something move, but then I found it and saw what it was. I'll try to take a picture...it's for sure some type of lizard. No idea how it got in there...the top has been on and it's in my son's room. So, it would have to have found a hole in the top, in his room...my guess is that it was somehow in there as a youngster or egg...no clue. WEIRD!

I'll try to get a picture.

Thanks!

I think it's a "brown anole"...go to this link, and scroll down to the second brown anole picture. It looks like a baby one of those...with those diamond like markings along it's back. My new computer is not working with my old printer that I use to get pictures off of my digital camera card...or I'd post the pic's I took.

Ok...guess I should get this back to chams...I guess I have awhile before evicting this little guy since I have no immediate leads on a female Carpet baby. Darn it all...maybe he'll just have to keep things interesting for awhile.

...care for him until he is big enough to go out into the big wide world! It'll give you prep for when your kids leave the house! LOL!!
