I'm going to reprobe in a week or three too, just to double check but as it stands now I have 2.2 DH axanthic/WS and 2.4 from the hypo X axanthic--but at least 2 of my actual axanthic het hypos are males, one of them probed as a probable female but I'm going to recheck cause I had a hell of a time keeping her tail straight.

Oddly enough none of my kingsnake books mentioned the actual number of subcauduals each gender would probe to, but it looked like a pretty major difference--females only went in a few scales, males went way down the tail.

I also got pooped on again. And the KY bottle got pooped on too >< I had to disinfect it or my wife would kill me.

Yeah, females will probe from two to four subcaudals into the scent glad pocket on each side, and males will go WAAAY down.

Try some Honduran hatchlings on for size if ya think kings are bad..LOL!

I'm going to be splitting a table at the OKC show in August; I may have the guy I'm splitting with double check my probing too just to be safe. I'd hte to send someone home with 2.0 or 0.2 when they wanted 1.1

LOL!, I hear that!. That is something that has happened to everyone at one time or another that has been in the hobby for any length of time.

Do you have an assistant to help you hold the snake? This probing is best done with one person to hold the snake and the other to do the probing. Of course finding that assistant may be problematical; my partner would assist me but getting pooped on is a deal breaker.

differnt bottles for snakes ,and people...NEVER use the same bottle of lube no matter what it is...buy your snakes their own...

mineral oil has no spermicides...cleans easily...

....should not be that messy....

....good luck....try a 17 foot male retic that unloads a quart of urates and liquid on your feet while you shove the back end of the largest probe 6 inches into it's vent/pene.......yea....
