baby croc monitor HELP!!!

bmx_python Jul 01, 2011 05:49 PM

OK, I bought a baby croc monitor at the show and it has been throwing up ever since. I feed it chicken nuggets(mcnuggets), and I'm guessing it's the skin??? I don't know if I should peel off the skin before feeding it the nuggets or maybe feed it feed it something else? I dropped a lot of money on this little guy and I don't want it going blue on me(unless it's about to shed!).
thanks

don't forget the dipping sauce,Croc Monitors prefer bbq over honey garlic.

Actually I am an expert and baby croc monitors perfer Bmx-python nuggets over McNuggets any day, they often get confused because the size is the same, but the python nuggets are more tender as they are used less. Its been scientifically proven too. I think it was published in the all nuts journal.

chicken mcnuggets are the worst thing you can give them. You need to switch him over to the new chicken tenders you get at burger king instead.
I have always found it very helpful with new monitors that have trouble keeping food down, to take them to a wed. bike night at a local bar and give them free wings. It helps even more if you give them some beer....but not too much beer or they start puking the wings back up.

the sad part is it's a happymeal away from being a true story.

The amount of bad advice here is amazing, clearly none of you have kept crocs for any length of time... Mcnuggets are awful for your monitor because of the grease and the awful breading, and while the new burger king tenders and bar wings are much better choices they will quickly cost you a huge amount of money on food bills.

As hatchlings I start all mine out on KFC dinner deals. You'll have to break down the pieces a bit but it becomes far more economical to buy a $20 family pack per week than a bunch of tenders, not to mention you get some tasty sides your monitor is sure to enjoy.

After he's grown I recommend switching him to some tyson chicken tenders available at the local supermarket. I buy in bulk and I usually get a great discount on them, make sure to also grab a few packages of macaroni noodles as croc monitors will not do well without side dishes!

Good luck with him!

You guys are all feeding the worst stuff to your monitors. I mean really its ridiculous. Zaxbys is far superior to all other monitor diet. Throw some zax sauce on there and you will have a full fledged monster in under 2 months. Ive also heard rumors that the chocolate shakes make taming way easier.

LMAO!! You guys are hysterical.

You're living in the dark ages! Monitor husbandry has evolved, and you guys were left behind.

Go to GNC, buy a big jug of GNC Wheybolic Extreme 60. Tube feed one shake per day and your croc monitor will be the size of a Nile Crocodile in 36 weeks!

O.o wtf?? why would you spend so much money one a Croc to feed it unhealthy food???? feed its preferred diet : species is a carnivore (meat eater). Feed appropriate sized rodents (mice, hamsters, rats). Will eat crickets and other small insects. Also eats birds and larger insects. Feed ground turkey & egg
