An unusual little beast I produced this

warren_Booth Jul 02, 2011 04:31 PM

So, this little one was produced in a single baby litter. One baby and 13 slugs from a female that I did not expect to produce. She ovulated and sat in the heat conservation position, but never got big. Then, at day 104 she produced this little one. Both sides are completely devoid of pattern. Whats your opinion?

MY opinion is that Boa is BLUE! Did you check the skins on the baby and parents to make sure it has a father? You never know you know Dr. Booth. That's a great looking kid! I have seen some Boas that came in from Honduras that were black. And I mean more black that any Argentine I have ever seen and after several years, several had lightened up quite a bit except one. Then she shed and looked like this.

Anyhow. She did breed and made babies, but never made any Blue ones.

Great looking critter Dr. Booth!

And people complain that my pics are blurry...

There are Belizian Island area boas that tend towards blue-gray, so one assumes it's possible for certain "normals." I will refrain from speculating, and only say it will be nice to see what happens in a few years when line-bred

These are pure Nicaraguan. No crosses.

Apologies for the pic quality. My camera died half way through. Would not focus. If you look back at any of my usual pics you can get an idea that the quality here is off.

Fir me the color I'd interesting, but it's the lack of pattern that interests me. Also, the eyes are white. Looks like I have another project.

Are you familiar with Chaos? It is, I believe("white eyes", a trait in common with several "jungle-type" genes in C. Am. boas.
